Senior point guard Earl Watson (Kansas City, KS/Washington HS) of the UCLA Men's Basketball Team was selected as the UCLABruins.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Dec. 18-24.
Against North Carolina Nov. 23, Watson led all players with a career-high 30 points and also recorded season-highs in rebounds (seven) and steals (four) with three assists and zero turnovers in 40 minutes of play. It was the most points scored by a Bruin since March 1998, when Kris Johnson had 33 points in UCLA's 102-94 win over Arizona State in Pauley Pavilion.
Watson, who now ranks second on the team in scoring with a 16.4 points per game average, earns his first UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week nod this season and second of his career.
