Competed in three meets as a true freshman … Made her UCLA Cross Country debut at the Arizona Invitational, where she crossed the line on the 6k course with a time of 22:47.4 … Improved her 6k time to 22:34.8 at the Dave Murray Invite two weeks later, finishing 17th overall and helping the Bruin women to a team victory … Finished 88th overall at the Pac-12 Championships, running a 6k time of 23:01.

800m PR: 2:21 … 1600m PR: 4:57 … Won her lone 800m (2:26.82) and DMR (13:12.55) competitions in shortened 2020 outdoor track season … Recorded 10 top-6 finishes in her senior cross country season, including four victories … Won the CIF Southern Section title with a 3M time of 17:28.50 … Was the runner-up at the 2019 CIF State Meet with a time of 17:22.5 on the 5k course … Went on to qualify for NXN Nike Cross Nationals and finished 33rd overall … Finished sixth in the 1600m at the CIF-SS Division 3 Finals in 2019, crossing with a time of 5:07.27 … Was fifth at the 2018 CIF State Cross Country Championships, crossing with a time of 18:31.6 on the 5k course.

Born in Torrance, Calif., to parents Tammy and Gordon Scriven … Has one older sister, Veronica … Grew up in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif. … Enjoys surfing with her dad, cuddling with her cat, and backpacking in the middle of nowhere with her friends … Also enjoys skateboarding and painting … Admires American distance runners Deena Kastor and Molly Seidel … Decided to attend UCLA because it “…had the perfect balance of academic and athletic intensity. I knew I wanted to stay in Southern California so I could keep up my passion of surfing, but I also wanted a different feel than living at home” … Lists greatest athletic thrill as winning a pair of surfing competitions at 6:00am in the morning and going on to race on her local cross country course and break the course record later that afternoon … Another great thrill was going 1-2 with her teammate, Samantha Steman, at the 2019 CIF-SS Championships to become the first Palos Verdes pair to ever accomplish the feat at a Section meet … Plans to major in Biology and has aspirations to become a doctor.
