Threw in nine meets for the Bruins this season and picked up 13 top-3 event finishes along the way … Finished second in the shot put in his lone indoor appearance of the season at the Arkansas Qualifier (17.57m, 57-07.75) … Earned the victory in the shot put in his outdoor season debut, going 17.95m (58-10.75) at the Ben Brown Invitational … Took first in the shot put (18.41m, 60-05.00) and second in the hammer throw (60.40m, 198-2) at the Jim Bush Legends Invitational at Drake Stadium … Secured victories in the shot put (18.45m, 60-06.50) and hammer (59.25m, 194-5) at the Bob Larsen Track Meet … Earned lifetime-best marks in the shot (19.36m, 63-06.25) and discus (51.02m, 167-5) in the Bruins’ dual meet against USC … Scored for the Bruins in the shot put (18.60m, 61-00.25) and hammer (61.11m, 200-6) at the Pac-12 Championships, finishing sixth and eighth in the events, respectively … Finished 15th overall in the shot put at the NCAA West Prelims with a mark of 18.94m (62-01.75).

Competed in the shot put in five meets this season, picking up top-7 finishes in four of his appearances … Indoor: Took fourth place in the shot at the MPSF Indoor Championships, launching 18.34m (60-02.00) for a lifetime-best mark in the event … Posted a mark of 17.89m (58-08.50) at the New Mexico Team Open, good for seventh place at the meet … Was the runner-up at the Dr. Sander Columbia Challenge with a toss of 17.84m (58-06.50) … Made his season debut at the UW Preview, where he took third place with a throw of 18.27m (59-11.25).
2019
As a redshirt freshman, competed in 13 meets … Indoor: Opened his career at the NAU Friday Night Duals, where he took third in the shot put at 18.12m (59-5.5) and fourth in the weight throw at 18.41m (60-5) … PR’ed in the weight throw at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational with a throw of 18.74m (61-5.75) … Competed in the weight throw at the MPSF Indoor Championships, where he finished 15th with a toss of 16.99m (55-9) … Outdoor: Made his outdoor debut at the Willie Williams Classic, earning third in the shot put (17.11m; 56-1.75) and seventh in the discus (47.64m; 156-3) … Had a highly successful dual meet at USC, notching PR’s in the shot put (18.26m; 59-11), placing fifth, as well as the discus (50.80m; 167-0), finishing third … PR’ed in the hammer at the Pac-12 Championships, notching a point in eighth place with a mark of 63.22m (207-5) … Also competed in the shot put and discus, placing 12th and 13th, respectively … Finished 35th in the shot put at the NCAA West Regionals with a mark of 17.95m (58-10.75) … Also placed 41st in the hammer with a mark of 57.16m (187-6) … Honors: Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention.
2018
Redshirted in his true freshman season at UCLA ... Competed at the USATF Junior Championships, where he recorded a pair of top-five finishes ... Came in fourth in the shot put with a top mark of 19.60m (64-3.75) ... Also placed fifth in the men's hammer throw, recording a top throw of 60.61m (198-10) ... At USATF Juniors, finished 10th in the discus at 53.31m (174-11).
High School
Four-year letterman in track and field at Buchanan High School in Clovis, Calif. … Competed in the shot put and discus … Posted career-best throws of 66-10.00 in the shot and 195-01.00 in the discus … Was third in the discus at the 2016 California State Championships with a throw of 188-6 and fourth in the shot with a 61-9.25.
Personal
Son of Dave and Kerry Wilson … Both his parents were student-athletes at UCLA, with Dave competing in the throws for the UCLA track and field team and Kerry competing on the gymnastics team … Has three brothers, Terrence, Zachary and Max, and one sister, Jenny … Enjoys archery … Began his high school track career as a pole vaulter … Currently an undeclared Life Sciences major with aspirations to work as a physician.
