Alex Knight Selected UCLA Student-Athlete of Week, presented by Ready

Knight was named the Most Outstanding Player of the 2023 NCAA Men's National Collegiate Volleyball Championship after helping lead the Bruins to the program's 20th NCAA men's volleyball title and the school's 121st overall NCAA title. The senior from Culver City hit a combined .378 percentage over the semifinals against Long Beach State and the final against Hawai'i on a total of 45 swings. He added a couple of key aces and three blocks in each contest. Knight also handled 33 of 34 serve receptions without error over the course of the two tournament matches, including a perfect 26 for 26 performance in the championship contest. He connected for a career-high tying 15 kills on a season-high 34 attack attempts in the championship match while recording his 13th double-digit kill effort of the campaign. His total of three blocks against Long Beach State tied for team-high honors while he led the team with his three blocks in the title match against Hawai'i. Knight's total of 18.5 points in the championship against UH also matched his career-best effort in that category.
This is Knight's first UCLA student-athlete of the week award of the season and of his career.
