    • Freshman guard Nicole Kaczmarski (Middle Island, NY/Sachem HS) of the women's basketball team was selected the MET-Rx UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Jan. 3-9

    Kaczmarski led UCLA to two wins in the Bruins' Pac-10 opening weekend. Against Washington Jan. 7, she led all players with 17 points on 6-11 shooting. She also contributed five rebounds, one assist and one steal in 19 minutes of play. Kaczmarski scored 10 of her 17 points during UCLA's 14-0 run to start the second half, staking UCLA to a 26-point lead with a little over 15 minutes to play.

    During UCLA's 87-60 win over Washington State, Kaczmarski scored 14 points and grabbed six rebounds and three steals.

    Kaczmarski ranks third on the team in scoring with a 10.8 average.
