Senior Keiko Price (Mililani, HI/Mililani HS) of the women's swimming team was selected the MET-Rx UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Jan. 24-30. Price led UCLA to its first-ever team win over Stanford Jan. 28, winning all four events in which she participated. When the final event of the day, the 200 Free Relay, was going to determine the winner of the meet, Price swam the leadoff leg of the relay that finished first, nearly five seconds ahead of the second-place UCLA team and 5.32 seconds ahead of Stanford?s team. The following day against Cal, she placed second in the 200 Free, came back to win the 50 Free in 23.09, a time just shy of Jenny Thompson?s pool record (23.01, set in 1994), and won the 100 Free in 51.07.
