Woolery Named UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week

LOS ANGELES โ Junior Jordan Woolery of UCLA Softball has been selected the Student-Athlete of the Week for competitions held between March 11-17.

Woolery led the Bruins with a .556 batting average (5-for-9), .692 on-base percentage, 1.333 slugging percentage, two home runs, five runs scored and four walks over UCLA's perfect 4-0 week. She homered in the final two games of UCLA's sweep of Purdue in the team's first-ever Big Ten Conference series. Woolery recorded at least one hit, one RBI and one run scored in all four games. Her first home run in the third inning of game two vs. Purdue โ a solo shot to opposite field โ was the deciding run in a tight 2-1 victory over the Boilermakers. Her second home run in the third inning of game three spurred UCLA's come-from-behind victory, helping erase a four-run deficit. The infielder also recorded five RBI and a 1.000 fielding percentage at third base (five assists, seven putouts) on the week. Woolery hit a two-RBI single in the first inning versus San Diego to score the game's first runs, and she now leads the Big Ten Conference and the nation with 47 RBI. She also leads the B1G and ranks second in the NCAA with 14 homers.
