Woolery Repeats as UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week

May 28, 2025 | Softball

LOS ANGELES – Junior Jordan Woolery of UCLA Softball has been selected the Student-Athlete of the Week for competitions held between May 20-26.

With UCLA on the brink of elimination and down to its final out of the season, Woolery hit a 2-run walk-off home run to defeat South Carolina in game two of Super Regionals last Saturday. Woolery's homer capped a miracle four-run rally to surmount a 4-1 deficit for the largest seventh-inning comeback in UCLA postseason history. Woolery entered that at-bat 0-for-6 with four strikeouts up to that point in the series. She went first-pitch swinging after a pitching change made by the Gamecocks and hammered the ball for her 23rd homer of the season.

Thanks to Woolery's heroics, UCLA forced an "if necessary" game on Sunday and went on to shutout South Carolina, 5-0, to punch its ticket to an NCAA-record 33rd Women's College World Series. Woolery drove in the Bruins' first two runs in the decisive game three with two separate RBI base knocks.

The junior secures her fifth-career UCLA student-athlete of the week award, the third of her 2025 campaign.
