McHenry Named Student-Athlete of the Week, Presented by Ready

LOS ANGELES – Redshirt senior Merrick McHenry of UCLA Men's Volleyball has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, for the week of April 1-7.
The middle attacker registered 15 kills on 29 swings, with two errors, to hit .586 for the weekend as UCLA moved into first place in the MPSF with a pair of wins over third-ranked Grand Canyon. McHenry tied his season-highs with 14 kills and three aces in the five-set decision on Saturday. Two of those three aces came in the fifth set during a service run which produced five straight Bruin points to break a 5-all tie. McHenry's total of 18.0 points in that contest was also a season-high mark. He has now hit at least .400 in each of his last 21 matches this season.
McHenry secures his second-career UCLA student-athlete of the week award, the first of this season.
